Oxford Himalayan Language Summer  School Teaching Jobs

(Nepali, Ladakhi, Hindi and Dzongkha)

The Oxford Intensive Himalayan Language Summer School is an annual summer school programme organised by The Himalayan Initiatives. We are planning to teach Tibetan, Chinese, Nepali, Dzongkha(Bhutanese)and Ladakhi languages for two weeks.  Due to the worldwide pandemic, the teachings would have to be online this year.

We are very excited to add the Nepali, Ladakhi and Dzongkha languages to this year’s summer school programme. We are now looking for potential language instructors for the programme.  We prefer a native speaker who is at universities or academic institutes, but this is not compulsory. Teaching experience and certificate are not required but we might check your teaching skills.

The instructors need to prepare the class lessons for two weeks, but The Himalayan Initiatives will have to approve them first. The level of language would be beginners or intermediate level; we are not expecting advanced classes. You will get paid according to the number of students. This year’s summer school will be sometime in August 2021.

Since this year’s course is online, anyone from anywhere can be the instructor. Potential candidates are encouraged to contact us at admin@himalayaninitiatives.org or oxfordhsls@gmail.com.

Please send your CV and a very brief introduction. We will write you back as soon as we have received your application.

The Himalayan Initiatives is doing many different initiatives; thus, summer school is one of them.
