Summary
The Center for Asian Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a non-tenure track half-time instructor position in Tibetan & Himalayan Studies. A PhD in a relevant field (such as Anthropology, Geography, History, Literature, Religious Studies, or Tibetan & Himalayan Studies) is required at the time of appointment. The appointment begins August 2021.

Key Responsibilities

As part of an initiative to establish an undergraduate certificate program in Tibetan & Himalayan Studies, we seek an area specialist to develop courses in traditional Tibetan civilization and contemporary Tibetan society and culture, as well as contribute to existing curricular offerings. Preference will be given to candidates whose research focuses, at least in part, on the study of contemporary Tibet and the Himalayas with field research experience in the region, relevant teaching experience, and fluency in colloquial and literary Tibetan. Expected teaching load will be 4 courses per year. This is a two-year grant-funded position, with a possibility for continuation beyond the period of the grant subject to budgetary conditions.
